There are over 15 muscle that can effect the performance of the shoulder.
If just one of those muscles become weak, or tight because of over use or under use there is a risk of having "Frozen Shoulder" due to and inflamed shoulder joint.
"Frozen Shoulder" Symptoms according to Mayo Clinic, "stiffness and pain in your shoulder joint. Signs and symptoms begin gradually, worsen over time and then resolve, usually within a two-year period."
BE AWARE OF:
a, Changing the shoulders you carry your bags on. Leave half of that crap at home. Less weight means less stress, physically and mentally.
b. Use the ROM, ranges of motion that does feel good. Not using your shoulder will accelerate the "Freezing" of the other muscles.
c. Practice good posture. Walking or sitting with head down and shoulder rolled forward tightens major muscle that effect the function of the shoulder, namely the chest muscle, ( the computer is a big contributor to poor posture).
d. Seek out yoga or stretching program. Self management and self education is the key to minimizing and reversing muscle pain and strain before your only option is a life time of medications or surgery with no guarantee of pain relief or return to normal function.
e. LISTEN to your BODY. It is reflecting the effects of your actions even if you don't know it.
